This Week's GAME Of The CENTURY

 Alrighty, kids! Armageddon has arrived!
The Mighty Top-Ranked Louisiana State Tigers waltz into town to face THE Second-ranked UNIVERSITY of ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE in a game that is being set up by media pundits and 'talking heads' as one for the ages!
The frenzied build-up will rise to a crescendo this evening as all eyes in the college football world will be on Tuscaloosa's BRYANT-Denny Stadium in a universally-televised (CBS) matchup of SEC West Titans.
I imagine that immediately after kickoff, it will sound like the opening day of dove hunting season:
BAM! BAM! BAM-BAM! BAM!
These are two of the hardest-hitting teams in college football, and it'll show-- and be heard. The consensus is that the squads are pretty evenly-matched, but I think the difference will be our defense. The Tigers have been successful against lesser competition, but I think The TIDE will bring a little bit more to the fight.

Look for quarterback AJ McCarron to have a modest, yet workman-like night, and for Trent Richardson and his gang to eventually plow through the bayou bengals defense late.

Brentoons's Pick: ALABAMA 24, LSU 14

ROLL TIDE! THE University of ALABAMA Crimson Tide, as expected, plowed through Vanderbilt last night 34-0 in a game that Nick Saban and I agree should have been MUCH more lopsided. Quarterback A.J. McCarron (from Mobile) had a career night- passing for 237 yards, running back Trent Richardson (from Pensacola) again rushed for over 100 yards, and the Tide defense punished the Commodores in the second half to eventually pull away. BAMA is 6-0 (3-0 SEC), and has Ole Miss, Tennessee, and then an open date before the looming showdown with LSU. THAT's gonna be a goody!

Now-WTH is up with the cow college?? auburn now has "war eagle tramp-stamps" on their uniform pants!
I saw it last night during the plainsmen-tigers-wareagles-or whatever's loss to Arkansas. Had to hunt a pic, but here it is, found on a cow college link HERE

TIDE Swamps, Stomps Gators; Moves To #2

The University of ALABAMA just clobbered the Florida Gators 38-10 down in Gainesville last night in a battle of ranked SEC unbeatens. The Tide started slow & tentative, giving up a long pass play for a spectacular touchdown on the first play from scrimmage, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.
It was all downhill for the Gators from there, as BAMA pounded, punished and pulverized them in just about every way imaginable. For the third week in a row, the starting quarterback was mercifully pulled in order to minimize injury. In this case, however, he returned when the backup was also knocked out of the game.
Courtney Upshaw pounded the quarterback, then literally added insult to injury two plays later by taking an interception back for a touchdown. Trent Richardson, as usual, was a beast.

The dominant performance over a previously-unbeaten Florida team leap-frogged The TIDE over the Oklahoma Sooners to the No. 2 spot in the AP Poll.

New "Bama Baby" Jersey

I recently had a 'custom' Alabama Crimson Tide jersey made for my lovely stepdaughter Michelle and my upcoming grandson:

Michelle is a 2006 Bama Grad. The "11/2" signifies her with her passenger. It's Rollin', baby! RTR!

MMMmmmm......! Tide Devours Hogs!

Big Al makes his way home with the spoils of the day after the UNIVERSITY of ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE butchered the Arkansas Razorbacks 38-14 yesterday in an SEC showdown in Tuscaloosa.
The Alabama Defense was stifling, and the offense put on a workman-like pounding to serve notice to the rest of the SEC West. Looks like the REAL Championship will be November 5th in Tuscaloosa's Bryant-Denny Stadium.
ROLL TIDE!

New "Ole Miss" Cartoon

After the embarrassing outings by both Georgia and Ole Miss this past weekend, I had to do a "Colonel Rebel" comic for my friend Brent Glover, a Rebels fan.
I think Colonel Rebel is a little late.......

Give Schiano a Pamprin...!

Come on. Get real.
Rutgers football coach Greg Schiano has suggested that the kickoff-- an integral part of ANY football game-- be eliminated in order to reduce injuries.
In case that didn't sink in: HE SUGGESTS THAT THE KICKOFFS BE ELIMINATED TO KEEP PLAYERS FROM GETTING HURT.

Read one of the numerous articles HERE.

Here's a hint, Coach: Football is a SERIES of violent confrontations. That's why the players-- from pee-wee and midget on up to the NFL-- wear protective gear and padding.
The only chance some players will ever have to get on the field is on the 'special teams'-- teams fielded specifically for the change of possession. Some are even recruited for this sole purpose.

Leftist, 'feel-goody' sentiments aren't practical on the gridiron.

Ingram Works With Saints Players Despite Lockout

Former UNIVERSITY of ALABAMA Heisman Trophy-winning running back MARK INGRAM is in New Orleans and working out with his new teammates, despite the owners' NFL lockout. Quarterback and Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees initiated these practices to help better prepare the Saints for the upcoming season, to acclimate the newcomers (like INGRAM) and refresh the veterans.
The prima-donna Reggie Bush has yet to make an appearance, further signalling that the bitter over-paid underachiever is on the way out. The hard-working, energetic and enthusiastic Ingram is destined to become the refreshing new face of the New Orleans squad, joining the dedicated and inspirational Brees.

Julio Jones Wows 'Em at NFL Combine

Wide Receiver JULIO JONES from THE University of Alabama ran faster, jumped higher AND further than highly-touted Georgia receiver A.J. Green while participating in the NFL Combine for players selected for evaluation before the NFL Draft.
Roll Tide.

Coach Nick Saban ...?? A Rocker...??

The man shredding on the guitar at exactly the 2:40 mark looks eerily familiar.....

Is it Coach Saban...?

Interesting: How an NFL Football is Made

TIDE Has Great Recruiting Class, Still Waiting On A Couple of Major Recruits

National Signing Day has come and gone, and The University of ALABAMA again ranks up in the top 5, with all of the various ranking services placing BAMA differently. The TIDE is still not finished, waiting on Rock Hill, S.C. giant defensive stud Jadaveon Clowney and Cyrus Kouandjio, whose brother is already at The Capstone.

AUBURN Wins National Championship...?!

How weird is THAT....?! auburn defeats the Oregon Ducks to win the BCS Football National Championship. That's just.... bizarre.
Could the Mayan calendar predicting the end of the world be off by a year...? Or could the Mayans possibly have not foreseen this highly-unlikely and virtually unbelievable outcome?

50-something years...! That's how long the tigers/plainsmen/war eagles or whatever waited between championships. This one will, in all likelihood, be forfeited later due to numerous NCAA rules violations. It wa undeniably won on the field.
Unfortunately, the national media saw these retards roll their OWN yard in celebration.

SAINTS Belly-Up....?? To SEAHAWKS...??

Good Lord!
The New Orleans Saints really stunk it up yesterday, losing to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Wildcard Game. The Seahawks won their lowly division with a losing record. EVERYONE picked the Saints to crush them, as they had earlier in the regular season. I guess that the one great year was last year, and that things are getting back to normal. I certainly hope not.

I really hope that they draft the departing-early Mark Ingram, Julio Jones AND Marcel Darius...!
I know it's not very likely, but I can dream, can't I....??

In the meantime, we bring back the Saints' perennial slogan: "Wait 'til Next Year...!"
