First 2017 BAMA Gameday Comic

Well, this is my first chance to post my SEC picks and BAMA Gameday Comics this season. Here goes:

There should be a lot of close ones today, and many will be toss-ups. My guesses...?

Florida 34
Vandy  35  Both teams scoring, Commodores get the upset.

Georgia     38
Tennessee 17

LSU  21
Troy  20  Maybe another upset...?

MSU   28  Which bulldogs will show up...?
auburn 27  Which tigers will show up...?

Outside the conference, CLEMSON handles Virginia Tech 34-21
Ohio State beats Rutgers 42-17

Back to Reality:
BAMA will pound the identity-challenged Ole Miss squad
THE University of ALABAMA will host the Ole Miss Rebels/BlackBears/soon-to-be-Landsharks in a nationally-televised night game on ESPN. The TIDE's injured defenders have mostly healed and are back with a vengeance. ole miss will score, but BAMA will eventually over-power them.
Jalen ain't playin' -- playin' around, that is..
BAMA's stable of backs will just be poundin'...

My Pick:

ALABAMA 35
Ole Miss       21

New "Ole Miss" Cartoon

After the embarrassing outings by both Georgia and Ole Miss this past weekend, I had to do a "Colonel Rebel" comic for my friend Brent Glover, a Rebels fan.
I think Colonel Rebel is a little late.......

Today's Picks

Okay, 'The Hat' Les Miles and Mike King's LSU Tigers brought The TIDE's 'Repeat' hopes to a crawling halt last week, but the season's not over YET!
ALABAMA hosts an emotional Mississippi State squad in a night game, and it should be interesting.
The Bulldogs are motivated to win one and have dedicated this game to Nick Bell, a deceased teammate who succumbed last week to cancer. Dan Mullen has put together a solid squad over in Starkville, and will coach his heart out.
No matter.
The TIDE looked flat and lost a game last week- on national tv- that they should have won.
ALABAMA 35, MSU 14

Q: Why does Scam Newton wear #2...?
A: BECAUSE 200,000 WON'T FIT ON HIS JERSEY!! HAHAHA!
Seriously, this is an unfortunate turn of events. I wanted the tigers/plainsmen/war-eagles or whatever to be undefeated, #1-ranked and confident going into The Iron Bowl, so that a nice humiliating defeat at the hands of The TIDE would be even more soul-crushing.
I will just have to make the best of this distracting bad press, negative publicity, Heisman-killing revelations and dis-array this whole 'Highest-Bidder-Gets-Cam' debacle has become to the 'Barn. Georgia has been playing pretty good ball as of late, but if Scam Newton plays, it won't matter.
WITH Cam: auburn 42, Georgia 35
W/O Cam: Georgia 35, the barn 21

Arkansas 42, UTEP 24
Kentucky 28, Vandy 17 Vandy leads 3-0 as I type this...!
Ole Miss 31, Tennessee 28 The Vols lead 14-0 as I type this....!
Florida 28, South Carolina 21 Gators rising, Cocks spiraling.....Winner wins East!

TCU 42, SDSU 10
Stanford 31, ASU 24
Nebraska 27, Kansas 20
Penn State 24, Ohio St. 21 I know.... I'm just rootin' for Joe Pa, though...!
Oklahoma St. 35, Texas 14 Mack Brown's having some problems....
Utah 49, Notre Dame 20

SC Upset Just a Hiccup; BAMA Bounces Back

Ouch. Okay, last week I predicted that THE University of Alabama Crimson Tide would NOT be upset by the South Carolina Gamecocks. I stand corrected. Carolina was a little sharper, a little more crisp, and seemed to want it more. The TIDE defenders barely missed close interceptions and tackles. Garcia and company barely got their first downs and big plays.
Like the saying goes, 'close' only counts in horseshoes and hand-grenades...!
Apparently, the off-week was a bit of an advantage, and BAMA's lack of rest took it's toll. The SC defense was smothering, pressuring Greg McElroy and getting uncharacteristic sacks. Their offense was ON, clicking and making the big plays when they had to. The Cocks beat The TIDE. Flat out. All day. Not by much- except for the score. Hopefully, we'll see 'em again December 4.

ON to THIS WEEK:

Ole Miss travels to Tuscaloosa's Bryant-Denny Stadium to face an angry and embarrassed Tide in a televised (ESPN2) night game. I won't say it will get ugly, but it could be a looonnng night for the newly-christened "Black Bear Rebels". WTF...? After years of controversy and turmoil, a bunch of bad publicity and finally a campus-and-alumni vote, THIS is the best they could do...?(Incidentally, click on this to see voting results. Ole Miss is about as swift as auburn!)

I STILL like MY "Hotty&Totty" mascot/logo idea better than the "Black Bear Rebels".
At least mine is relevent and incorporates the wishes, both old and new, of the people.
Doesn't matter. The Tide wins this one going away. Ole Miss will pay for the sins of Carolina. BAMA will feel like they have something to prove, and won't take the foot off of the accelerator.
ALABAMA 35, Ole Miss 10 (Could be worse if Tide really gets rolling!)

The REST of the SEC:
In what is arguably the biggest game of the day, the Arkansas Razorbacks travel to auburn to face the plainsmen/tigers/war eagles or whoever. THIS should be an exciting matchup, where whoever is holding the ball last wins. It's really a toss-up, as these two are pretty even. The real difference will unfortunately be home-field advantage.
auburn 49, Arkansas 42

LSU 35, McNeese St 14
S. Carolina 28, Kentucky 20 (Can the 'Cats pull an upset after last week's SC victory?)
Georgia 31, Vanderbilt 17
Florida 21, Mississippi State 20 (Possible Bulldog upset?)

tennessee is yet another opponent with an off week before facing The TIDE next weekend.
